Ajo Motorsport continues in good form as the pre-season tests continued at an unfortunately rainy Jerez for the past three days. While rain interrupted the test proceedings again, it was business as usual at the front when Red Bull Ajo Motorsport’s Marc Marquez continued to be the fastest rider of the tests, just as he had done only a few days before in Valencia. Also in good form was Avant Intact Ajo Motorsport’s German Sandro Cortese, working with base set-ups on his RSA-bike. The team’s have yet one three day official test session at the end of the month before the season takes on to full flight at the first race in Qatar, starting at the evening of 11th of April.
MARC MARQUEZ, RED BULL AJO MOTORSPORT:
“We have done some good work together with the team, and like Valencia, I’m happy with the work we’ve done, and also the lap times. I did my best lap time ever here on the second testing day, even if it was still damp at parts. But this is only the pre-season, so we need to keep working hard. I feel really comfortable with the bike and with the team as well, so we go home in a good mood!”
SANDRO CORTESE, AVANT INTACT AJO MOTORSPORT:
“Like in Valencia, we’ve been working with the base set-ups for the season to put us in good form for the races. We’ve done some good times as well, even though we have not really targeted any lap times, the main focus of the work is to get all pieces in place for a successful season. We come back here in a few weeks, and hopefully by then we have a bit more sun as well!”
TEAM MANAGER AKI AJO:
"The tests are always hard work, and now, with the weather conditions effectively taking out half of the track-time we’ve had it’s a bit of a shame really. We do need the wet practice as well, but with the mixed conditions we’ve had it’s a bit risqué to go out as there isn’t really anything to gain. OK, still, the conditions are the same for everyone, and we’ve come out on top on both tests, so we need to be happy of course.” |
